The dome-shaped lid made from refractory ceramic creates the same conditions as a traditional bread oven, with the right level of humidity during the baking process to achieve a golden, crispy crust with a soft, airy inside.
The HR ceramic (High Resistance) ensures that the heat is diffused evenly for controlled cooking and excellent resistance to changes in temperature, allowing the dish to go straight from the freezer to a hot oven (-20°C / +270°C). The bright glaze is resistant, non-porous, durable, and easy to clean. All Emile Henry products are made in France and come with a ten-year warranty.
Crafted from all-natural materials, the Emile Henry Italian Bread Loaf Baker has been made in Marcigny, France, since 1850 using high-fired Burgundy clay and Emile Henry's proprietary HR ceramic (high resistance). This design makes the product resistant to temperature changes, shock-resistant, and suitable for use in the oven up to 520 degrees, as well as in the broiler and microwave. The dish can go directly from the freezer or refrigerator to a hot oven and then to the table.
The extremely hard glaze is durable and scratch-resistant, making the Emile Henry Italian Bread Loaf Baker ideal for everyday use in the kitchen when preparing delicious meals and desserts. Cleaning is easy, as the product is dishwasher-safe or can be hand-washed with soap and water.
